Paint that holds up in Kitchener-Waterloo not just on the day we leave.
McHugh Painting has repainted homes and businesses across Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge and Guelph since 2008. Founder Matt McHugh started painting at 17 and still runs every job the same way: real prep work, premium paint, and a crew that shows up when they say they will.
Run by a painter, not a call centre
Matt McHugh started painting at 17 and founded McHugh Painting in 2008. Almost two decades later the company still runs the way he started it: real prep work, premium paint, and a crew that treats your home like the job actually matters. Most of our work now comes from repeat customers and the people they refer to us.
We use premium paint lines including Benjamin Moore, Sherwin-Williams and Fine Paints of Europe, and back every residential job over $2,000 with a 7-year warranty. Cabinet refinishing is backed for life. From a single room to a full retirement community repaint, we quote it straight and finish it clean.

What Kitchener-Waterloo homeowners say
★★★★★“It is amazing what some fresh paint can do to your home. McHugh Painting took my house from the eighties to today. My kitchen cabinets and bathroom vanity went from wood finish to a lovely white, and the walls in the kitchen and foyer were painted to match the living and dining room. It was a big job and did not go without the odd hiccup, but the finished look is beautiful. Matt has an amazing team, each very qualified in their field.”
“Matt and his team did such a marvellous job on our kitchen, I just had to write this review. Very professional, thorough and transparent, Matt is also a superb communicator.”
“Alex and Carlos were amazing. Our job was very last minute and the company accommodated our needs. They did a beautiful job, were clean, kind and knowledgeable. Absolutely would highly recommend.”
“We recently had McHugh Painting paint our entire home, including 16-foot ceilings. Very professional with modern, up-to-date equipment and an excellent finished product. Completely satisfied and highly recommend them.”
